It was taught by Jesus himself, who
is God, Philippians 2: 8. And let’s look at this context, I have 2 kids, and I
thought one of them a life style and the other another. When I want to send the
same message to the two of them, do you think I will say it the same way? Now
God gave the law to the Jews, and in the beginning was the word, and the word
was with God, and the word was God. Now Jesus who is the word has been there
from the beginning, so he knows all the things that have happened between him
(God) and man. So God wanted to teach his disciples who were Jews, who received
the law how to pray how do you think he would have thought them, than teaching
them to pray the way he told them? The same man who was meant to take away the
sins of the world, and give the gift of righteousness to mankind (Romans 5: 17)
is saying they should pray for forgiveness of sins? There is a way God relates
with the Jews and the gentiles that is why scriptures encourage us to rightly
divide scriptures. James, Peter, John were sent to preach to the Jews
(circumcised) (Galatians 2: 8-12), and since all scriptures is breathed of God
for all reasons, and the same power that worked in them also worked in Paul and
barnabas, God talked to the Jews through this 3 people in a way, and to the
gentiles through Paul in another way preaching the same thing, passing the same
message. I’m not saying he said different things, and will judge them
differently, but (confessing their sins), it was meant for the Jews, not the gentiles,
because they (the gentiles) did not receive the law, but they all (Jews and
gentiles) became sinners because of adam. So which sin did they (gentiles) do
that they have to confess?
FORGIVENESS
Okay now the death on the cross, Jesus
said “father forgive them for they know not what they are doing” hey, look at
the statement for a minute. “Forgive them lord for they know not what they are
doing”, he interceded for sinners who were mocking him before they believed and
asked for forgiveness. But nowadays people say you have to ask for forgiveness
before God forgives. Jesus did this symbolic act before he died. Hebrews 7: 25
made us understand that because he has saved us who came to God the father
through him (believing in him unto righteousness and confessing it unto
salvation) he is alive to make intercessions for us. So it’s alright to ask for
forgiveness, it will help your body know that God has forgiven, but spiritually
and scriptural, he had forgiven you even before you committed the sin as long
as you came to the father through believing in him. FORGIVENESS IS YOURS
THROUGH CHRIST JESUS.
QUESTION why would the bible say it
is impossible for those who have experienced God’s spirit, and worked in his
grace if they fall away to be renewed? Hebrews 6: 4 but Romans 11:23 says “if
they don’t continue in their unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God has the
power to graft them in again”. It all boils down to the heart, because Hebrews
3 : 8-18 talked about hardening the heart as a serious issue in unbelief, a
believer who falls away from grace is one who works according to his own
strength, and not acknowledging that he doesn’t have a strength of his own.
Then after a while his heart hardens because man can’t just do it by themselves
so he hardens his heart out of anger and nothing you preach enters his ears and
because of that you can’t bring him unto repentance, not that he cannot get
saved again.
